Last Saturday my sister and I kicked it at the new Bloomingdale's at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto. The Makeup Date event in the beauty department was what brought us out on a rainy, gloomy day. Gloom, however, was nowhere to be found once we popped inside Bloomies.
The floor was bustling with ladies lining up to check in for the Makeup Date presentation. No joke, I had no idea so many people were going to show up. But how could you pass it up?? The bubbly was flowing while the Makeup pros from Bobbi Brown, SKII, La Mer & Dior (to shout out a few) told the crowd in lively demonstrations what we all should be packing in our beauty arsenals.
And speaking of La Mer, one lucky gal WON herself a jar of the good stuff just for answering a question! Yeeessssss....the Makeup Date was informative AND they were giving away LA MER! Died. So, I sipped on le bubbs and listened and made mental notes of what I need.
But what's a Makeup date without a chic makeover c/o Bloomingdale's NARS stylist, Stephanie Ramirez (instagram: @ambitious0utsider) ....basically I showed up TOTALLY bare-faced. I told Stephanie the facts: I don't wear makeup often. And when I do, it's minimal. We are talking mascara, maybe liner & lip gloss.
I asked her for a subtle, smokey-eye and nude lip combo. And wow....she blew me away. This was probably the 3rd time ever having my makeup professionally applied and I loved it. Mainly, Stephanie, being a pro, worked her magic on me FAST! And it looked AMAZING! See the before and after shot below...
